The darkness of the old main building  낡은 주 건물의 어두움이  towered in front of me. 내 앞에 높이 솟아 있었다.  

Nothing moved, 아무것도 움직이지 않았다 but I could feel eyes watching. 하지만 나는 눈들이 나를 지켜보고 있는 것을 느낄 수 있었다. 

“Hello?” 여보세요? I cried out to the stillness.  나는 적막을 향해 외쳤다. 

“Is anyone there?” 거기 누구 있어요? My voice trembled. 나의 목소리는 떨렸다. 

I walked away from the hall 나는 복도에서 걸어 나왔다 and entered the shadows draping the building. 그리고 건물에 드리워진 그림자 속으로 들어갔다. 

 

 Emptiness and darkness surrounded me. 공허함과 어두움이 나를 감쌌다. 

My footsteps echoed on the paths. 나의 발소리가 복도 가운데 울렸다. 

 

A few times, 몇 번씩 slight movement at the corner of my vision 나의 시야끝에 보이는 작은 움직임이 made my head snap around. 나의 고개를 움직이게 했다. 
번역) 시야끝에 보이는 작은 움직임 때문에 나는 고개를 이래 저리 돌렸다. 

Shadows played tricks. 어두움이 농간을 부린 것이다.  (어두움에 속은 것이다.)

More than once 한번 이상씩은 I thought I saw a ghostly figure standing at a dark corner. 나는 어두운 구속에 유령과 같은 형상이 서 있다고 생각했다.  

My heart pounded 심장이 격하게 뛰었고 and I could feel myself shaking with fear. 나는 내가 두려움에 떨고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 

Yellow security lights glowed overhead. 노란색 보안등이 머리 위에서 반짝였다. 

As I made my way to the stairs leading to the basement, 내가 지하실로 향하는 계단으로 갔을 때the sense of being watched grew stronger. 감시받는 느낌이 점점 강해졌다. 

I knew something was down there. 무엇인가가 아래에 있다는 것을 알았다. 

A dreadful feeling of horror crept over my heart, 불쾌한 공포감이 나의 심장을 감쌌고 and I could feel a cold sweat coming on. 나는 식은땀이 흐르는 것을 느낄 수 있었다. 

I watched for shifting shapes within the shadows, 나는 어둠 속에서 움직이는 형상을 찾아봤지만 but couldn’t see anything. 어떤 것도 볼 수 없었다.
